DAY 1
Welcome to Nairobi
August 6th
Arrival in Nairobi
Meet & Greet Dinner
Welcome to Kenya! All participants should arrive in Nairobi by August 6th to ensure a smooth start to our adventure. Whether you’re flying in from across the world or coming from within Africa, take this day to settle in, recover from your travels, and get excited for the days ahead.
Accommodation: We will be staying at the Boma Inn Hotel near Wilson Airport for easy access to our early morning flight the next day.
Evening: Meet & Greet Dinner
On our first evening we’ll gather for our first dinner as a group. This is a perfect chance to:
- Get to know each other
- Go over the workshop itinerary
- Discuss photography goals and expectations
- Enjoy delicious food and a welcome drink to toast the adventure ahead!
Important Note: As we are taking the earliest flight to the Mara on August 7th, it is not possible to fly into Nairobi on the morning of the 7th. Please plan to arrive on August 6th.
Travel to the Mara
On August 7th, we will embark on the early morning flight to the Masai Mara. The 45 minute flight is a scenic safari over the great rift valley and a perfect start into the day. Upon landing at Keekorok Airstrip, our maasai guides will welcome us warmly. We’ll then head to a unique breakfast experience in the heart of the savannah, followed by a scenic leisure drive as we make our way to the camp. After checking in and enjoying a delicious lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to unwind before we set off for our exciting afternoon game drive.
Accommodation: We will be staying at Olimba Mara Camp for the week, from where we will drive out to the Maasai Mara National Reserve for our daily safaris.
DAY 2

DAY 3 to 9
MAASAI MARA
Exploring Maasai Mara & The Great Migration
From August 7th to 14th, we will delve into the wonders of Maasai Mara National Reserve, immersing ourselves in the spectacular Great Migration. Each day, our itinerary will be guided by the movement of the herds and other exciting wildlife sightings. Depending on what we encounter, we’ll decide whether to embark on full-day drives with packed meals or enjoy two game drives per day, returning to camp for lunch in between.
Farewell and Departure
On our final day, we’ll gather for a farewell breakfast at camp, taking a moment to reflect on the unforgettable week we’ve spent together. As part of our farewell ritual, we’ll also plant some trees to leave a lasting mark on this beautiful place. After lunch, we’ll head to the airstrip for our flight back to Nairobi in the mid-afternoon. For those staying a bit longer, we can enjoy one last dinner together in Nairobi, while those with international flights that evening will be transferred to JKIA Airport for their onward journey.
